2. What wines will we taste, how many, and how will the tasting be conducted?
- You pick! We can do:
- 'Classic wines of classic regions'
- A horizontal tasting (same wine or varietal, but different regions or sites)
- A vertical tasting (the same wine, but different vintages) *note, this tasting would depend on the availability of the selected wine.
- No theme is off limits - we can customize in any way.
- Rest assured that you will taste some fantastic bottles! I always try to incorporate wines that might be off one's typical radar, and to expose guests to new and exciting regions and expressions.
- A typical WINE SCHOOL includes 6 bottles of wines, to be poured in 1oz tastings.
- The tasting will be set up with 6 ISO glasses per person, on a tasting mat. I will pre-pour all of the wines, and then have everyone gather around while we go through them one by one! We will cover general tasting techniques, what to look for, and how to describe what you're tasting in the glass.
- If desired by the host, we can even do "two" tastings whereby the first is 'open', where we openly go over the wines together. Once finished that portion, I send everyone away to another room and then pour the wines again in a different order - to conduct a 'blind' tasting to see if you can detect which ones were which!

3. How much does WINE SCHOOL cost?​

A 3-hour WINE SCHOOL starts at $500. The price can change depending on the value of the wines selected for the tasting (ie. if you choose to do a Champagne tasting, for example, the price would increase solely due to the increased cost of the wines). Even in the most basic package I always try to include incredible bottles for guests to experience.
